The Craftsman

Vic Tesolin is a designer/maker, educator, and writer in the woodworking field. He started woodworking while in the Canadian military where he ran a shop that produced everything from picture frames to intricate architectural installations. After retiring from a 14 year career in the military, Vic attended Rosewood Studio, where he graduated from a nine-month intensive furniture design and making program.

Shortly after his graduation, Vic was invited back to Rosewood Studio as a resident craftsman where he was employed as a part-time shop technician and instructor. In this time, Vic also ran a business designing and making commissioned furniture architectural installations, and decorative objects.

Vic was also at the helm of Canadian Woodworking and Home Improvement magazine as the editor. During his time there, Vic kept the magazine full of interesting articles that were geared to educate the reader and improve their skills.

Currently, Vic works for Lee Valley Tools full time. Although his commissions have slowed down considerably with his new position, Vic still finds opportunities to design and build commission furniture in his modest studio in Carleton Place, Ontario.
